AKRON, Ohio - Terrance Broadway threw three touchdowns and ran for two more but an onside kick was the biggest play in Louisiana-Lafayette’s victory over host Akron.

Hunter Stover recovered his own onside kick after Louisiana-Lafayette retook the lead 28-24 in the fourth quarter, giving the Ragin’ Cajuns (2-2) the ball, and Broadway capped the drive with a game-winning 14-yard pass to Darryl Surgent.

Akron (1-3) missed two fourth quarter field-goal attempts, and its final TD, a 28-yard pass from Kyle Pohl to Fransohn Bickley, wasn’t enough one week after nearly defeating 15th-ranked Michigan.

WESTERN KENTUCKY 58, MORGAN STATE 17

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Western Kentucky took their early season frustrations out on Morgan State behind 291 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns from Antonio Andrews.

Andrews’ five scores broke the Western Kentucky (2-2) record for most rushing touchdowns in a single game.Andrews wasted no time getting things started with a 65-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage against the Bears (0-4). The senior finished with 17 carries for 213 yards.

True freshman quarterback Todd Porter earned his first collegiate start for the Hilltoppers and all four quarterbacks saw time on the field. In Porter’s NCAA debut, he completed 5 of 10 passes for 76 yards and threw one interception.

Western Kentucky out gained Morgan State 588-317.

JACKSONVILLE STATE 32, GEORGIA STATE 26, OT

ATLANTA - DeMarcus James’ rushing touchdown in overtime was the difference as Jacksonville State (4-0) survived two late scares to defeat Georgia State in the Georgia Dome on Saturday.

After falling behind the undefeated Gamecocks in the second quarter, winless Georgia State scored three times in the final quarter - on a blocked punt, a pass and a field goal, twice rallying into ties. Kicker Wil Lutz hit from 26 yards as time expired to force overtime at 26-26.

Then James rushed for his third touchdown, scoring from the 2. James finished with 41 yards on 16 carries.
