The Razorbacks turned to trickery - punter Sam Irwin-Hill threw a 24-yard pass to snapper Alan D’Appollonio on fourth-and-6 - to set up Zach Hocker’s 41-yard field goal. A face-mask penalty called on Tevin Mitchel moved Rutgers past midfield, but the Hogs stopped them. AJ Derby’s sneak moved the chains once, but he missed two open men - Javontee Herndon and Keon Hatcher - on the next sequence and the Hogs couldn’t roll the clock. Paul James ran on six consecutive plays to reach the Hogs’ 35, and Gary Nova completed a 16-yard pass on fourth-and-4. Chris Smith sacked Nova for a 15-yard loss, but linebacker Jarrett Lake pushed Nova when he was out of bounds for a 15-yard personal foul rather than thirdand-21. Two plays later, tight end Tyler Kroft caught his fifth pass, a 15-yard touchdown, over the middle.
