Missouri man dies in motorcycle crash

A Missouri man died early Saturday after his motorcycle struck a highway sign in Madison County, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality crash report.

About 2:50 a.m., Randy Gist, 55, was driving south on Arkansas 45 near U.S. 412 when he failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the road, state police said. Gist ran into a highway sign and was thrown from the motorcycle, state police said.

He died of his injuries at the scene.
