St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers, 1416 W. Poplar Street, holds its annual Parish Festival from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept.

  1. The festival will feature international foods from countries represented in the parish - American, Mexican, El Salvadorian, Vietnamese and more. On-stage entertaiment includes the Subiaco Jazz Ensemble fromSubiaco Academy at 1:15 p.m. Childrens games and a car show also are included.

The annual festival honors the parish patron, St. Vincent de Paul, whose feast day is Friday.

First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Dr., presents Utako Tanigawa and David Fountain in a joint piano recital at 3 p.m. Sept. 29. The free performance is part of the Wesley Concert Series.

Tanigawa, a native of Osaka, Japan, is a director of the Information Services Division of Walmart Stores’ shared security services.

She has participated in theinternational Van Cliburn piano competition in Fort Worth, Texas, and the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland. This is her third performance in the Wesley Series.

Fountain is a native of Benton. He teaches piano privately and a NorthWest Arkansas Community College and is associated with the Academy of Arts at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. He is past dean of the Northwest Arkansas chapter of the American Guild of Organists and recently retired as the organist and director of music at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Rogers.

Johnson Ave., offers a study of the first five books of the Bible - often called the Torah - starting Tuesday from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. Titled “B’resheet,” Hebrew for “In the Beginning,” the one-year study considers Scripture through time and culture and how it connects with the New Testament and teachings of Jesus/Yeshua. Knowledge of the Hebrew language is not required.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County, 501 S. 40th St., Rogers, holds a Social Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, with a back-to-school theme and potluck lunch. The children’s choir performs. Parents will participate in a forum and discussion.

The congregation marks fifth Sundays of the month with community service. An Elk River float and cleanup is planned for Sept. 29. The 5.5-mile will be directed and outfitted by Gracie’s Canoe & Camp at 324 Canoe Camp Lane in Pineville, Mo.
