BENTONVILLE — The parking lot at the Midtown Shopping Center in downtown will close Monday as developers prepare to demolish the center.

The lot on Northwest Second Street will remain closed while developers build a new shopping center. It will be replaced by a parking deck on the back side of the center when it is complete.

Developers are encouraging drivers to use other free parking areas downtown. A map of alternative parking lots is available online at www.nwaonline.com/documents. There will also be signs up at closed entrances to the shopping center lot to direct drivers to alternative parking areas.
