SPRINGDALE — A 71-year-old woman was hospitalized Thursday after she was struck by a vehicle.
Rosa Maldonado of Springdale was crossing Oak Avenue and hit after two vehicles collided, according to a Police Department news release. Maldonado was in critical condition Thursday, according to a spokeswoman for Northwest Medical Center-Springdale.
A northbound Ford Expedition, driven by Misty Ledbetter, 34, was turning from Thompson Street onto Oak Avenue, according to the news release. Ledbetter stopped when she saw Maldonado crossing Oak.
A Chevrolet van, driven by Dominique Crespin, 24, hit the rear of the Ford, pushing it forward. The Ford then struck Maldonado.
The Police and Fire departments called to scene at 8:57 a.m. Maldonado was taken to Northwest Medical Center-Springdale.
Crespin and Ledbetter were given breath tests and results of both tests were negative for alcohol. Crespin was cited for careless driving.
