71-year-old Springdale pedestrian injured in wreck

A 71-year-old Springdale woman was seriously inured in a wreck Thursday morning, according to a news release from the Springdale Police Department.

Rosa Maldonado was crossing Oak Avenue when she was struck by a Ford Expedition driven by Misty Ledbetter, according to the news release. Ledbetter had been about to turn on to Oak Avenue from Thompson Street, but stopped when she saw Maldonado crossing the street.

Ledbetter's vehicle was then hit from behind by a van driven by Dominique Crespin, pushing it forward and striking Maldonado, according to the news release. Alcohol tests administered to Ledbetter and Crespin were negative. Crespin was cited for careless driving, according to the news release.

Maldonado was taken to Northwest Medical Center with serious injuries, according to the news release. She was listed in critical condition.
