UALR is cutting costs as enrollment declines
It institutes hiring curb, budget trims

Citing a continued decline in student enrollment, University of Arkansas at Little Rock Chancellor Joel Anderson told members of the university’s board of visitors Thursday that he was reducing nonpersonnel spending by 10 percent and initiating a “semi-hard ” freeze on all hiring — steps he laid out in an Aug. 30 memorandum.
