Benton County Panel Backs $85 Rural Ambulance Fee

Benton County’s Finance Committee on Tuesday backed an $85 annual fee on rural households to pay for ambulance service.

Benton County’s justices of the peace have set a public hearing, as required by state law governing the creation of emergency medical service districts, for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 5 in the main courtroom of the Benton County Courthouse. The justices of the peace endorsed an $85 annual per household fee to pay for the service Tuesday and could vote to impose the fee at the Quorum Court’s September meeting.
