Report: Payout to dead is costly

Farm subsidies total $36 million

The U.S. government sends nearly $36 million in federal farm subsidies paid to dead individuals annually, with only a fraction of the improper payments being recovered, according to a report prepared for the Senate Agriculture Committee.
