Fire kills toddler in Spa City house

An early-morning fire in Hot Springs killed a toddler and destroyed the house Saturday, according to the city’s Fire Department.

About 4:30 a.m., Hot Springs firefighters were called to 607 Trivista Left St., where a home was fully engulfed in flames, fire officials said. Of the three people in the home, an unidentified person was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, fire officials said. Willow Turner, a 1 ½ -year old girl, died in the fire, Garland County Coroner Stuart Smedley said. The third person was uninjured.

Hot Springs authorities are investigating the fire and fatality.
