Bentonville doctor arrested on suspicion of theft

BENTONVILLE — A doctor was arrested Thursday in connection with an investigation concerning a theft case.

Dr. Ruben Tejada, 54, was being held Thursday in the Benton County Jail awaiting a probable cause bond hearing. He was arrested in connection with theft of property, according to a press release from the Bentonville Police Department.

According to the news release, police received a complaint on Oct. 23 from administrators of Northwest Health System in Bentonville about one of the hospital's doctors handling his financial responsibilities inappropriately. Tejada's arrest came after police interviewed witnesses and reviewed several documents, according to the press release.
