Deputies: West Fork Woman Rammed Car, Brandished Gun

Deputies arrested a West Fork woman Thursday after they said she threatened her husband with a gun and rammed a woman’s car.

Jennifer Page Berner, 35, of 14672 Director Road faces felony charges in connection with aggravated assault on a family or household member and first-degree criminal mischief.

Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies went to the house on Director Road just before 9 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an armed person.

According to an arrest report, Jennifer Berner threatened her husband, Marty Berner, with a gun and a bat while he helped his friend, Mandy Jeffries, put gasoline in her car.

Marty Berner told deputies he received a text message from Jeffries earlier Wednesday night stating she ran out of gas in his driveway and needed more gas to make it to his house, the report said. Marty Berner told his wife that he needed to assist Jeffries, deputies said.

Marty Berner said he told Jeffries to wait inside his car while he filled her car with gas because it was cold outside, the report said.

Investigators said Jennifer Berner drove down the driveway with her headlights off and rammed the back of Jeffries’ car.

Marty Berner said his car was parked in front of Jeffries’ car causing her car to hit his car, deputies said.

Investigators said Jennifer Berner drove back to the house and Marty Berner followed.

As he neared the home, Marty Berner saw his wife driving toward him, the report said.

Deputies said Jennifer Berner sideswiped her husband’s car and ran him off the road.

According to the report, Marty Berner said they both got out of their cars and Jennifer Berner pointed a gun at him, while holding a bat in her other hand.

Jennifer Berner was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where she was being held Friday on $7,500 bond.

Marty Berner was arrested in connection with charges stemming from a previous, unrelated incident, according to an arrest report.

He faces felony charges involving possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of firearms by certain persons, as well as charges from another department. He was in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,307 bond Friday.
