Police: Elkins Man Broke Into Razorback Stadium

FAYETTEVILLE — An Elkins man faces criminal charges after police said he broke into University of Arkansas' Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Tuesday night.

Police arrested Dennis Ray Peek, 23, of 20448 Mount Olive Road in connection with felony commercial burglary and theft of property, along with misdemeanor criminal trespass and public intoxication.

Police were called to the stadium, near Gate A, at 10:18 p.m. after a university employee reported a break-in.

According to an arrest report, Peek was driving a facilities management golf cart when the employee found him in the stadium.

Police said Peek admitted to consuming multiple alcoholic drinks shortly before breaking into the stadium.

Officers said they searched him and found an “oil candle” in his pant leg that was taken from the football stadium.

Peek was arrested and taken to Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held Wednesday on $3,250 bond.
