City To Offer Document Shredding, Pill Take-Back Services

FAYETTEVILLE — Residents can dispose of personal documents and medication Saturday during a “paper and pills” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the World Gym parking lot, 2035 N. College Ave.

A shredder will be available for individuals and businesses. There is a limit of five office file boxes of paper that can be disposed, according to a news release.

The pill take-back is part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, an initiative to safely dispose of prescription drugs.

Prescription drug drop boxes are available throughout the year at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, 1155 Clydesdale Drive, and the Washington County Courthouse, 280 N. College Ave. The Sheriff’s Office will hold a drug take-back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Harps Food Store in Lincoln, 718 W. Pridemore Drive.

Fayetteville is also offering two bulky waste cleanups from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Elks Lodge No. 1987, 4444 N. Crossover Road; and Vandergriff Elementary School, 2975 E. Township St.
