The recent partial government shutdown has delayed reporting of Arkansas' unemployment figures for September, the state Department of Workforce Services said Tuesday.
The federal government shut down from Oct. 1-16 and curtailed all but essential operations during that time.
The U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and Workforce Services originally planned to release unemployment estimates for September and final figures for August on Tuesday. Instead, the department said, final figures for August and September and preliminary data for October will now be released Nov. 22.
In addition, data for the state's Metropolitan Statistical Areas and counties, which were set for an Oct. 30 release, will now be released along with preliminary October figures on Dec. 4, the department added.
