FAYETTEVILLE — Washington County detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal shooting in Winslow on Tuesday afternoon.
Kelly Cantrell, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said Michael Dillon Brawley, 15, died from a single gunshot wound.
Deputies were called about a report of an accidental shooting near at the intersection of Bethlehem Road and Landelius Road at 3:54 p.m, Cantrell said.
Cantrell initially said the shooting appeared to be accidental. She later said that couldn’t be confirmed.
“It’s still in the preliminary investigation so that hasn’t been determined,” she said.
No other injuries were reported and no one had been arrested as of Tuesday night, Cantrell said.
Brawley’s body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine his cause of death
