Fayetteville survives Heritage, 28-27

There was more drama in the 6A/7A West as Fayetteville rallied to defeat upset-minded Rogers Heritage by a final of 28-27. Leading 24-21, the Eagles of Heritage kicked a 45-yard field goal to go up 27-21, but Fayetteville's Dre Greenlaw took the ensuing kickoff back for a touchdown with just 1:49 to play.
Fayetteville will remain in first place in the 6A/7A West, moving to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Springdale Har-Ber 43, Van Buren 6
Har-Ber used a fast start to knock off Van Buren 43-6. The final score had already been reached with 7:48 left in the second quarter, after which point the Wildcats (4-2, 2-1) removed most of their starters and there was no further scoring. Sain Mathew rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns, and Matthew Garrison recorded a 99-yard interception return and a 46-yard touchdown reception. In all, the Wildcat defense recorded four sacks and four interceptions of quarterback Michael Cureton of the Pointers (1-5, 0-3).
Springdale 24, Siloam Springs 21
It was a frightening homecoming for injury-riddled Springdale (3-3, 1-2), but the Bulldogs survived a late rally from Siloam Springs (1-5, 0-3). The Panthers, still searching for their first conference win since joining the 6A/7A West last season, scored a touchdown with 3:23 left to pull within 24-21 and then recovered the ensuing onside kick. The Bulldogs then stopped the Panthers on downs to seal the win.
Gentry 43, Pea Ridge 30
In a 4A-1 shootout, Jared Cousins recorded 424 yards of total offense and six touchdowns to lead Gentry (4-2, 2-1) to a 43-30 win over Pea Ridge (2-4, 0-3). Cousins rushed 24 times for 246 yards with five rushing touchdowns and added a passing touchdown, completing 11 of 15 passes for 178 yards. Pea Ridge was led by Shane Ivy, who rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries.
Shiloh Christian 38, Huntsville 14
Daniel Shimer led Shiloh Christian (3-2-1, 2-1) to a 38-14 win over 5A West rival Huntsville (2-4, 0-3). Shimer rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns for the Saints, while Abler Goode added nine catches for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Prairie Grove 40, Lincoln 17
Jacob Storlie kept Prairie Grove atop the 4A-1 conference, leading his team to a 40-17 win over Lincoln (5-1, 2-1). Storlie threw three touchdown passes.
