College To Host Gubernatorial Candidates

BENTONVILLE — NorthWest Arkansas Community College's Student Government Association will present “A Conversation with Gubernatorial Candidates” today and Thursday.

Association officers will host Republican candidate Curtis Coleman from noon to 1 p.m. today for a roundtable discussion followed by a question-and-answer session, according to a news release.

They will host Republican candidate Debra Hobbs from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the same format.

The association will take candidates through the Paneitz Student Center before the forum that is open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Both forums will be held in Room 108 of the Student Center.

Forum topics will include questions on the candidates’ views pertaining to college education, affordability, and state support of colleges, their support of the lottery scholarship, job creation and their goals for higher education in Arkansas.

Republican candidate Asa Hutchinson and Democratic candidate Mike Ross also have been contacted, but haven't yet scheduled to be on campus.
