Redman & Associates announced Monday that it will open a manufacturing and distribution facility in Rogers to make electric ride-on toys. The facility will employ 74 people, according to a news release.

“We are extremely proud to be able to manufacture right here in Arkansas,” Mel Redman, founder & CEO of Redman & Associates, said in the news release. “This agreement was completed through working collaboratively with the state and Walmart and was accelerated following Walmart’s U.S. manufacturing summit in August. "

The facility will be in an existing 275,000-square-foot building at 1300 N. Dixieland Road. The company will invest $6.5 million in the facility, according to the news release.

Wal-Mart held an Aug. 22 summit in Florida to underscore its stated commitment to buy an additional $50 billion in U.S.-made goods over the next 10 years.
