Wendy Davis, the Democratic state senator who rose to national prominence in June for her filibuster against abortion restrictions in Texas, declared her candidacy for governor in Haltom City, where she said: “Texans don’t want to sit back and watch Austin turn into Washington, D.C.” Chelsea Clinton, 33, told Glamour magazine that she and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, are hoping to start a family, “God willing,” and that 2014 will be “the year of the baby.” U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy, R-Wis., who was first elected in 2010 and previously was a cast member on MTV’s The Real World in the 1990s, was screamed at and grabbed by a stranger but not harmed as the lawmaker walked to the U.S. Capitol to vote on legislation, his office said.
