Is Your Household Like The Government?

To all those who constantly write in saying that the national debt is our country’s biggest problem - ahead of unemployment, grade “D” infrastructure, the increasing scale of natural disasters, secret surveillance, gridlock, and other problems - I ask:

Do you have a mortgage, car payments, old student loans, or credit card debt?

Does your health insurance fully cover major medical events?

Also, has your income ever been reduced because of a period of unemployment?

Have you conducted any wars in the last 10 years?

Did your representatives arrange for you to get a big pay cut a decade ago, in order to benefit their fat cat chums?

So do you think your household is just like the government?

MISSED THE GUN PARADE

I am so sorry I missed the parade of gun-toting residents (recently) in Springdale. Of course, it would not have made it any clearer to me why grown men have to open carry a weapon. I do have a theory, which is best not shared.

I’m not a constitutional scholar nor do I know the ins, outs and loopholes in the law regarding this.

I believe people can be qualified, certified, or whatever to carry a concealed weapon for their protection. So is this some effort to bring back the shootout at the OK Corral?

More troubling was thefact that one participant gave his son a gun when he was 5 years old. Under today’s laws, would that not be considered endangering the welfare of a minor?

Bottom line, I get the right to protect yourself, your family, and your property; I just don’t get this gun culture. I’ll end now and look forward to the next parade of gun- toting residents. I will be crushed if I miss the next one.
