State police await lab data in killing

IMBODEN - Arkansas State Police officials are still investigating the Monday shooting death of an elderly Imboden woman, state police spokesman Bill Sadler said Friday.

Randolph County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call to a home on Muddy Lane just east of Imboden about 7 p.m. Monday and found retired schoolteacher Lois Waddell Keller, 88, shot.

Andrew Lamb, 35, Keller’s nephew, told police that he was cleaning a rifle in the home when it accidentally discharged and struck Keller.

Randolph County Sheriff Gary Tribble asked for the state police to conduct the investigation.

Sadler said Keller was pronounced dead in the home. Her body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy, and investigators are awaiting the results, Sadler said Friday evening.
