A Mountain Home man who was reported missing Tuesday night was found by a park ranger Thursday morning in a park about six miles from his home, according to a spokesman with the Baxter County sheriff's office.
Sgt. Brad Hurst said a ranger located John Thompson, 48, about 8 a.m. in Panther Bay Park on Norfork Lake and contacted authorities. When deputies arrived to talk to Thompson, Hurst said, he became "belligerent" and "got into a scuffle" with them.
Thompson was arrested and taken into protective custody, but no charges had been filed as of 11:30 a.m., Hurst said.
Thompson had been reported missing about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
