UA women win easy at NCAA regional

— Arkansas had four runners finish in the top 10 and the Razorbacks' women easily won the South Central Regional title Friday in Waco, Texas.

Southeastern Conference runner of the year Dominique Scott finished in second-place to lead Arkansas in the 6k race. The Razorbacks, ranked No. 3 nationally, won the meet by 79 points over second-place SMU.

It is the second consecutive team win for Arkansas, which won the SEC meet earlier this month. The Razorbacks also won the Chile Pepper Festival and finished second at a stacked field in the Adidas Wisconsin Invitational last month.

Scott finished with an unofficial time of 20:04.6, 24 seconds behind race champion Marielle Hall of Texas. Shannon Klenke finished third for Arkansas, while Diane Robison and Grace Heymsfield were eighth and ninth, respectively.

Paige Johnston (11th), Jessica Kamilos (16th) and Sandie Raines (20th) rounded out Arkansas' team of runners.

The Razorbacks will finish the cross country season with the NCAA meet next Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.
