Gubernatorial Candidate Coming To Bentonville College

BENTONVILLE — The NorthWest Arkansas Community College Student Government Association will present another in its series of conversations with gubernatorial candidates on Thursday.

The group will host former Congressman Mike Ross, Democratic candidate for governor, from noon to 1 p.m. for a roundtable discussion followed by a question-and-answer session, according to a news release.

Student Government Association members and Student Ambassadors and Activities Board members will take Ross through the Becky Paneitz Student Center before the forum, which is open to students, faculty, staff and the public. Refreshments will be served. The forum will be held in Room 108 of the Student Center.

Forum topics will include questions on the candidate’s views pertaining to college education, affordability, and state support of colleges, support of the lottery scholarship, job creation and goals for higher education in Arkansas.

Student Government Association officers hosted Republican gubernatorial candidates Debra Hobbs and Curtis Coleman for similar forums in October. Asa Hutchinson, Republican candidate for governor, also has been contacted but has not yet been scheduled to be on campus.
