Groundbreaking For Bentonville Recreation Center Set For Tuesday

BENTONVILLE — The groundbreaking of the Bentonville Community Recreation Center will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at 1101 S.W. Citizens Circle, just off Southwest I Street.

The center will be an 80,000-square-foot facility for residents of all ages. Amenities are to include an aquatic center featuring a zero-depth entry, a family leisure pool and a 25-yard competitive pool. The center also will feature a fitness center, dance/aerobics studio, gymnasium, indoor running track, community rooms, arts and crafts room, child watch area, senior activity area, a lounge and more, according to a news release.

The facility will be in a 35-acre park that will include multipurpose sports fields and an amphitheater. The construction period is 18 months, with an estimated project cost of $16.1 million.
