Krikey. My daughter's 5th grade teacher wanted her to read The Hunger Games at age 10. Before we'd allow it, My wife started reading it and couldn't get through it. I read it and refused to allow my now 10th grader (14 yrs old) to read it. I don't think it's a good book, and I certainly didn't see "hope for the future" in it. Just a dismal read. Glad I waited for my daughter to be a bit older before she read it. But I would have been happy if she'd never read it.
