Bentonville is the best city in Arkansas for young families, according to the financial website NerdWallet.

Factors such as the quality of schools, affordability and economic growth figured prominently into NerdWallet’s determination of the state’s top 10 cities for young families. Other Northwest Arkansas cities on the list include Lowell in third place and Rogers in ninth.

Sixty-three cities and areas designated as places by the U.S. Census were included in NerdWallet’s analysis. Only places with a population greater than 5,000 were considered.

“People have flocked here in recent years, with the population growing by nearly 80 percent (in the) last decade — nearly 10 times the rate of the state,” stated Mike Anderson, a NerdWallet blogger, about Bentonville.

Lowell received a score of 72.1 and Rogers received a 66.

Other cities in the top 10 include Greenwood, Berryville, Pocahontas, White Hall, Bryant, Benton and Mountain Home.
