FAYETTEVILLE — Motorists should expect traffic delays this week as the contractor building the overpass on College Avenue gets closer to pouring the deck surface.

The shoulder heading east on the Fulbright Expressway will be closed Monday through Friday, according to a news release.

One lane of southbound College Avenue and the shoulder headed west on the Fulbright Expressway will be closed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night Tuesday through Friday.

Electronic message boards and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic.

The overpass, when complete, will connect northbound College Avenue to westbound lanes of traffic on the Fulbright Expressway and Shiloh Drive and Mall Avenue. It’s expected to open in May.
