Thelda and Troy Sanders of North Little Rock have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple were married Oct. 24, 1953. She is the former Thelda Glenn and a retired cosmetologist. He is a retired drywall finisher. They are the parents of Troylynn Sanders, Charles Sanders and Larry Sanders, all also of North Little Rock. The couple have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Marcille and James Huffman of Sherwood celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at the Manees House in North Little Rock. The couple were married Nov. 1, 1963. She is the former Marcille Hoffman and retired from the Pulaski County Special School District. He is retired from Alcoa. They are the parents of DeAnna Huffman Cartwright, also of Sherwood, and Laurie Huffman of San Jose, Calif. The couple have four grandchildren.
BAUXITE - Carolyn and Samuel G. Clark have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were married Nov. 1, 1963. She is the former Carolyn L. Newton and retired from customer service at Sysco Foods. He is a retired X-ray and ultrasound technologist. They are the parents of Lea Ann Moore of Ward and have two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
BENTON - Gara and Otto Land celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday with a family gathering at their home. The couple were married Nov. 1, 1963. She is the former Gara King and a retired teacher in Benton. He is retired from Alcoa. They are the parents of Katie Land of Carencro, La., and the late Greg Land of Springdale. The couple have one grandchild.
Bobbie and Warren L. McElroy of Little Rock will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a trip with friends to Branson and a family trip to the beach next spring. The couple were married Nov. 6, 1953. She is the former Bobbie L. Custer, is retired from Rock City Furniture Inc. and is currently employed at Roller-Drummond and Roller-Chenal funeral homes. He is retired from Timex and the State Fairgrounds and is presently employed by Roller Funeral Homes Inc. They are the parents of Lawrence McElroy of Alexander and Ron McElroy of Mayflower. The couple have six grandchildren.
FORDYCE - Evelyn and C.A. Ramer celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Oct. 5 with a family gathering. The couple were married Oct. 7, 1943. She is the former Evelyn McGarity and retired from the Fordyce Credit Bureau. He is staff chairman of the University of Arkansas Agricultural Extension Service in Dallas County. They are the parents of C.A. Ramer III of Birmingham, Ala.; John C. Ramer of Pine Bluff; and David N. Ramer of Heber Springs. The couple have 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Lena and Wayne Jones of Little Rock have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were married Oct. 26, 1963. She is the former Lena Carrol Neal and is owner of Jones Grocery. He is retired from Sears and now works for Sam’s Club.
Elizabeth and Walter Binz of Little Rock celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Oct. 16 with a dinner at the home of daughter Shirley Scott of Maumelle. The couple were married Oct. 16, 1948. She is the former Elizabeth Ann Carter and is retired from St. Vincent Medical Center. He is retired from AFCO Steel. They are also the parents of Ron Binz of Denver; Dianne Rhodes, Barbara Hiley, Anita Spence and Patty Neumeier, all of Little Rock; and Mary Chism of Bryant. The couple have 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
