The Springdale Rotary Club will host its inaugural Pig Trail Mud Run fundraiser starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. The run will take place on an undeveloped portion of the Ecclesia College campus in Elm Springs.

The course features steep hills, underbrush, trees, a stream bed and ponds. Runners must be 18 or older to participate in the obstacle-driven event.

Registration is $70 until May 31 and $80 on the day of the race. Proceeds from the run go to Rotary Club projects, including the construction of a handicap-accessible Rotary Adventure Park, scholarships, the Rotary Youth League Awards and the dictionaries for third-graders program.

Dragonfly program planned at park

Dragonfly and damselfly photographer Robert Thomas will present a program on the predator insects from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Devil’s Den State Park in West Fork.

Thomas has been photographing dragonflies and damselflies for more than six years, and many of his photographs have appeared in field guides.

Thomas will present photos of rare and seldom seen specimens during his talk. After the talk, guests will hike to Lee Creek in search of dragonflies and damselflies in honor of National Trails Day.

Participants also can photograph the insects during a special catch-and-release program. More information is available by calling (479) 761-3325, ext. 205.

The Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers will present the seventh annual Music on the Lawn Concert Series. Concerts are planned each Saturday through Aug. 3 on the outdoor stage at Center Court.

Bill Dollar and Loose Change kick off the series with a performance from 6-8 p.m. Saturday. Leah and the Mojo Doctors are scheduled to play June 8, and the Effron White Band will perform June 15.

Uncrowned Kings and Nathan A. round out the June schedule with shows June 22 and June 29, respectively. July and August performers have yet to be announced.
