Fundraisers offer variety of fun

EVERYDAY SUPERHERO 5K/1 MILE WALK MORGAN NICK FOUNDATION AND COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES CRAWFORD COUNTY 1 7 a.m. - The Morgan Nick Foundation and Court Appointed Special Advocates Crawford County will hold the Everyday Superhero 5K/1 mile walk at Lee Creek/Mike Myers Park in Van Buren. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero.

PIG TRAIL MUD RUN SPRINGDALE ROTARY CLUB 1 10 a.m. - The inaugural Pig Trail Mud Run, sponsored by the Springdale Rotary Club, will take place in Springdale. The 5K run includes 15 obstacles. artists have accepted the challenge to create artistic

entries to be available by silent auction at the fundraiser

for Youth Bridge. The evening will also include awards

for the paintings in a variety of categories, a live auction,

adult beverages and heavy hors d’oeuvres, a raffle, wine

HUMOR FOR THE HOTLINE ARKANSAS CRISIS CENTER8 5:30 p.m. - Arkansas Crisis Center will hold its second annual Humor for the Hotline fundraiser at U.S. Pizza Company in Fayetteville. The comedy show will be hosted by Ched Carpenter, Mr. Ugly Uncle and feature Danny Atchley. Eric Counts, “2012 Arkansas Funniest Person,” will headline the event. MOONFLOWERS AND MOJITOS BOTANICAL GARDEN OF THE OZARKS 13 5:30-8 p.m. - Moonflowers and Mojitos at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks will include the namesake drink, hors d’oeuvres, live music by Got It Covered, artwork by Greg Moore and Kathy Snodgrass and beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages.

FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE NORTHSIDE ROTARY14 7-9 p.m. - The third annual Father Daughter Dance hosted by the Northside Fayetteville Rotary Club will be held at the Donald W. Reynolds Boys and Girls Club in Fayetteville.

ART OF WINE WALTON ARTS CENTER 13 6 p.m. - The 13th annual Art of Wine festival to benefit the Walton Arts Center will begin with the Winemaker’s Dinner on the stage of the center’s Baum Walker Hall. Winemaker Alex Dutzi of William Hill Estate Winery will lead guests through the tasting dinner. Tickets for the cocktailattire event are $200 and limited.

The evening will also include a silent auction.

14 7 p.m. - The Uncorked! Wine Tasting at the arts center will offer a selection of more than 400 wines from around the world and food from area restaurants. Tickets are $80.

15 6 p.m. - The Premier Tasting will give guests an opportunity to sample premium wines and heavy hors d’oeuvres, with a selection of silent auction items. Tickets are $150.

15 9-11:30 p.m. - A new addition to the festival this year is the Art of Wine After Party following the Premier Tasting. The party will include food, drinks and live entertainment. Tickets are $75.

TOUR DE FUN TEEN ACTION & SUPPORT CENTER15 6:45-9 a.m. start times - Tour de Fun, the Teen Action & Support Center’s only public fundraiser, will consist of 10K, 50K and 100K bike rides, a 5K walk/run/stroll and a Little Tike Ride, all starting at the cornerof First Street and Elm Street in Rogers. Children’s activities will include rock climbing, inflatable bounce houses and a Speleo Cave. Registration is $20-$30.

7 HILLS HOMELESS SHELTER, ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION 15 6 p.m. - The Ninth Annual Wingfest at the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville will benefit 7 Hills Homeless Shelter and the Alzheimer’s Association.

The fundraiser will include wing sampling, a wing eating contest and conclude with an Eddie Money concert. Information: wingfestnwa.com.

BARN DANCE HORSES FOR HEALING 15 6 p.m. - The 21st annual Barn Dance for Horses for Healing will be at the riding center’s covered arena in Bentonville. The outdoor event will include a barbecue dinner, silent auction, live country music and opportunities to sponsor ponies. The evening includes dinner, awarding of endowed scholarships and the presentationof the Spark of Hope Awards to an individual, community partner and corporate sponsor.
