Texas blues rockers ZZ Top will perform at the Arkansas Music Pavilion at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Fayetteville on Oct. 4. Tickets go on sale today at 9 a.m.

The band was formed in Houston in 1969 and is best known for hits like “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Cheap Sunglasses.” ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

War Eagle Appreciation Day is set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday in the Crossbow Pavilion at Withrow Springs State Park near Huntsville.

The event will include a community float on the War Eagle River, music and lunch. Special awards will be handed out for the 2013 War Eagle Stewards and to winners of the Beaver Watershed Alliance spring photography contest.

A limited number of canoes and kayaks will be available for the community float. Guests can bring their own, but must register with the park by calling (479) 559-2593.

Youth Bridge’s annual Starry, Starry Night…Almost Van Gogh art event and auction will be 6:30-10 p.m. Saturday at the home of Hershey and Denise Garner, 3390 E. Mission Blvd. in Fayetteville.

The event will include professional and amateur art competitions, door prizes, a wine pull and a special raffle. Art will be auctioned off as part of live and silent auctions.
