Fulks Named Gentry Basketball Coach

GENTRY — Tim Fulks was named the new girls basketball coach at Gentry at Tuesday’s school board meeting.

Fulks will replace former coach Tim Rippy, who was recently hired by Siloam Springs as the girls basketball coach. Fulks was selected from among more than 20 applicants to coach the Lady Pioneers, who advanced to the Class 4A state tournament this past season.

“Coach Fulks brings 13 years of high school coaching experience to Gentry,” athletic director Brian Little wrote in a letter to the Gentry school board. “He will be leaving Batesville after one season as the head senior boys’ basketball coach. He spent 12 years as the head senior girls’ coach at Bald Knob, where he transformed their program into a perennial winner.”

Little said Fulks has 252 career wins with regional and state tournament appearances on his resume as a girls basketball coach.

“I believe that with my experience, and the athletes at Gentry High School, we could build a solid and winning program,” Fulks said.

He is expected to move to Gentry later this summer when his contract at Batesville expires on June 30.
