Arkansas officials request fan input

FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas’ athletic department is conducting a fan study regarding a possible seating expansion in the north end zone of Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

A survey was emailed Wednesday to season-ticket holders to give fans an opportunity to express their views on expansion, according to an Arkansas news release.

Fans have 10 days to respond to the survey. Results are expected to be announced at the end of the summer.

Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long said it’s important to get fans’ input to evaluate the expansion plans and better understand the demand for tickets.

As part of the survey, fans are asked to gauge the game day experience, including parking, traffic flow, in-stadium technology and cell phone service. The survey also asks fans how they would feel about the future sale of beer and wine in premium club spaces only, which the survey says the university is considering beginning in 2014.

The UA board of trustees in February approved a market and cost study related to expanding the stadium. The study is being funded by athletic department revenue, donations and bond proceeds.

If the athletic department determines an expansion is viable, the project must be approved by the board of trustees before construction could begin.
