BELLA VISTA — Jim Parsons, chairman of the Bella Vista Patriots, was arrested Tuesday in connection with two misdemeanor charges.

Parsons of 29 Duvall Lane is accused of criminal trespass and criminal mischief in the first degree after cutting down a tree on a neighbor’s property, according to the arrest affidavit.

Richard Dale of 40 Duvall Lane reported April 22 a tree had been cut on his property after he returned from being out of state since October, according to the affidavit. Dale told police Parsons admitted in a heated conversation he cut the tree down, court documents state.

Parsons said he and a group of neighbors cut the tree and some brush down when police questioned Parsons on April 29. Parsons told officers the area was in violation of Bella Vista Village Architectural Control Committee regulations, according to the affidavit.

Police told Parsons they don't enforce Architectural Control Committee rules. Parsons was processed at the Bella Vista Police Department and released Tuesday.
