McALESTER, Okla. — Two death row inmates set for execution next month in Oklahoma have declined to make last meal requests.
Oklahoma State Penitentiary Warden's Assistant Terry Crenshaw says James DeRosa and Brian Davis have made no requests for a special meal or visitors on execution day. Crenshaw tells the McAlester News-Capital that it's unusual that both inmates chose not to request last meals.
DeRosa was sentenced to death for the October 2001 killings of a husband and wife from Poteau. His execution is scheduled for June 18.
Davis was convicted in the stabbing death and rape of his girlfriend's mother, 52-year-old Jody Sanford of Ponca City. Davis is set for execution on June 25, though the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board has not yet held a clemency hearing in his case.
