Run and get dirty

at Rotary event

The Springdale Rotary Club is hosting its Pig Trail Mud Run fundraiser on Saturday.

The 5K run features at least 15 challenging obstacles on a course with extreme hills, underbrush, trees, a stream bed and ponds. There will be a Recovery Party after the race with music, food and beer from Core Brewery.

The proceeds of the race will fund projects of the Springdale Rotary Club including scholarships, building the handicap accessible Rotary Adventure Park, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and many others.

A participant must be more than 18 years of age, and the cost is $70 before Friday and $80 the day of the race. The race begins at 10 a.m., and runners will meet at the Springdale Holiday Inn. Registration is at pigtrailmudrun.com.

Blood center seeks donors

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks supplies 38 area hospitals with blood donations from residents of the Ozarks. There are opportunities every week to save a life through giving blood:BELLA VISTA 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, St. Bernard Lane BENTONVILLE 8 a.m.-noon Thursday at Walmart People Center, 508 S.W. 8th St.

ELM SPRINGS 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Elm Springs United Methodist Church, 110 School St.

EUREKA SPRINGS 1-6 p.m. Tuesday at Inn of the Ozarks, U.S. 62 West FAYETTEVILLE 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Zumbatomic offers fun

Bella Vista Village will offer a new class guaranteed to get kids moving this summer.

Zumbatomic, a Latin-inspired dance fitness class designed for children ages 4 to 12, will be available in two sessions at the Metfield Clubhouse, 3 Euston Road.

Each session will be from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Session I will be offeredWednesday through June 26, and Session II will be offered July 10 through Aug.

  1. Zumbatomic teaches coordination, confidence, balance, team work, respect and much more.

The cost is $20 per session for members and $25 per session for nonmembers. In addition, class participants, without a photo identification card issued by the Property Owners Association, will be required to pay the Metfield facility fee of $2.25 per class.

The classes will be taught by Hillary Sperry, a certified Zumba instructor.
