The May Festival of the Arts continues through May 31 in Eureka Springs, but the weekend of May 17-19 was a big part of the annual celebration. On May 17, the artists of White Street - plus about 40 guest artists - welcomed visitors to the White Street Studio Walk. Among those opening their homes and studios was Zeek Taylor, one of the event’s founders, pictured with visitor Gordon Spencer of Blue Eye, Mo., while jewelry artist Janet Alexander, second from right, stopped to chat with Caitlin Cantele, from left, Sara Ann Smith and Meagan Chipouras in Gina Gallina’s crocheted art booth. On Sunday, authors like Catherine Coulter, left, greeted their fans at the annual Books in Bloom literary festival. The free event, held at the Crescent Hotel, is sponsored by the Carroll and Madison Public Library Foundation. Now in its eighth year, it brings together authors from many genres to sign their books and discuss their craft.
