Friends ‘Hobnob’ for state park

“Hobnob” at Hobbs State Park - Conservation Area east of Rogers is a yearly celebration of the Friends of Hobbs’ undertakings in support of the park’s many programs and activities. This year’s event will include a full dinner, music and a live and silent auction from 6 to 9 p.m. June 15.

From school and public programs, to the Friends of Hobbs Speaker Series, to donated astronomy equipment, computers and taxidermy, the Friends of Hobbs group is the front runner of the park’s private sector financial and non-financial support.

Hobbs State Park visitor center is located on Arkansas 12 just east of the War Eagle Road intersection.

Cost is $25 per person.

UA hosts classes for area students

The Fay Jones School of Architecture is hosting a summer design camp for area students going into ninth grade. Students will learn about architecture, landscape architecture and interior design through hands-on projects, tours, movies and discussions led by design faculty. The camp is planned for June 11-14 on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville. Cost is $300, and need-based scholarships are available.
