Occupation: Retired certified public accountant

Where I live: I live in Little Rock’s historic Hillcrest neighborhood with my wife, Mary, and our dog, Bear, who is a 70-pound standard poodle/great schnauzer mix.

My favorite space is: Our “locker room” master bath - specifically our soaking tub.

Why? Since completely remodeling our home, the soaking tub has become such a luxury for me. As I near the age of 60, it seems the more I can do to pamper myself, the better. After a long walk with Bear or playing a round of golf, a long soak in the tub while watching sports, reading or just relaxing to music helps to melt away the aches and pains. The tub is a large, stand-alone, contoured tub but without jets. And you can step directly out of the soaking tub into the large walk-in shower without doors (hence locker room) that has two shower heads. We also have a large vanity counter with double sinks, and there is lots of storage space behind the mirrors. We made this very livable bath from a spare bedroom, and we chose maintenance-free materials from top to bottom. I am old-school and don’t use bubble bath, but generally soak in Epsom salts.

If I could change one thing to improve this space, I would: Install a larger television screen - something about 30 inches.
