Man killed, 2 hurt in U.S. 70 collision

A Pearcy man died and two other Arkansans were injured after a two-vehicle collision in Garland County on Saturday, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality accident report.

Darrell Holcomb, 49, died of his injuries, state police said.

About 9:40 a.m., Harry Mullins, 66, of Hot Springs was waiting in his 2004 Nissan Sentra to turn left onto U.S. 70 from a private drive at 2700 Airport Road, the report states. Mullins turned onto the highway into the path of a westbound 2010 Honda motorcycle, driven by Holcomb, state police said. Holcomb then struck the car.

Mullins and passenger Carolyn Mullins, 62, were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Hot Springs, state police said.
