Four Arrested After Meth Lab Found

LINCOLN — Police arrested four Lincoln residents after finding drugs and components to make and distribute methamphetamine, according to an arrest report.

Mathew Brown, 35, of 305 E. School St.; Dylan Ballard, 20, of 119 N. Carter Ave.; Steven Poplin, 20, of 11138 Old Cincinnati Road and Felisha Crittenden, 22, of 1229 Maple Lane face felony charges of manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Crittenden also faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

An officer investigating stolen stop signs spotted the two signs at 311 Shady St., police said. The officer obtained permission from the property owner to enter a camper and found Brown, Ballard, Poplin and Crittenden, police said.

The officer found several glass jars, a small plastic bottle containing ammonium nitrate, lithium strips, sodium hydroxide and ephedrine pills. Agents with the Fourth Judicial Drug Task Force told the officer he stumbled into a “one pot” meth lab, also known as a shake and bake laboratory, police said.

The officer also found several plastic baggies, a grinder with white residue, four propane torches, digital scales, along with a jar containing 32 Alazopram pills and a marijuana bong, police said.

Brown, Ballard, Poplin and Crittenden were being held Saturday in the Washington County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond each.
