THE SKINNY: Popcorn, Indiana Fit Popcorn packaging demands attention.
Not only is there a “Biggest Loser Approved” seal, there’s a surprisingly small calorie count touted on the bag: only 37 calories!
So, then, why are there 130 calories per serving, as stated on the back of the bag? Because there are 37 calories per cup and 3.5 cups per serving of the popcorn, which is available in four flavors (a not quite salty enough for us Sea Salt and a somewhat fusty Olive Oil, as well as Parmesan & Herb and Onion Dijon). A serving of Fit popcorn can have similar stats to the brand’s regular popcorn. At least in the case of, say, Sea Salt (130 calories and 6 fat grams for a smaller 3-cup serving).
Still, Popcorn, Indiana Fit flavors are a savings compared to, say, the Bacon Ranch (150 calories and 10 fat grams for 2.5 cups) and Movie Theater (160 calories and 12 fat grams for two cups) flavors.
