BASEBALL
• Rogers American Legion team being formed for current freshmen through senior players for both Rogers high schools, Pea Ridge and home school students. • Springdale Rotary Club T-Ball sign-ups have been extended to May 24 at the Springdale Youth Center in Murphy Park. Any boy or girl who is between 5 and 7 years old on June 1, 2013 is eligible to play. The cost is $50. Games will be played at Hunt Park in Springdale between June 22 and July 12. • Tryouts for the 2013-14 Bentonville High School baseball team will be held June 4-6 at the Tiger Athletic Complex. BASKETBALL
• Spring and summer league teams for boys between grades 4-7 are now forming in Fayetteville for players throughout Northwest Arkansas. Teams will focus on skill development and be coached by experienced players. Teams will consist of nine players and will participate in local tournaments. • The 17th Annual Trent Trumble Memorial Bulldog Scramble will be June 7 at Paradise Valley Athletic Club in Fayetteville. The entry fee is $100 per player and there are morning and afternoon tee times. Lunch will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds benefit Fayetteville High School athletics. • American Legion Post 341 will host its Sixth annual American Heroes Golf Tournament on June 8 at Kingswood Complex in Bella Vista. Proceeds go to Wounded Warrior Project, Fisher House, the Fayetteville Veterans’ Home and to help ship boxes to the troops in Afghanistan. The four-man scramble begins at 8 a.m. and includes lunch, door prizes and a raffle. Cost is $65 plus cart and you do not have to be a POA member to participate. • The Friends of the Highlands annual Fourth of July Golf Tournament will be held July 4. The event is a two-person scramble with each member contributing at least five drives. The tournament begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Participants should check-in by12:30 p.m. Following the tournament, dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. at Mulligans at the Highlands. The tournament is limited to the first 72 couples. The cost is $60 per couple, which includes dinner, tax and tip. The fee, however, does not include green fees and carts. FIRST TEE OF NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
• The First Tee is now taking registrations for its golf and life skills classes that begin in June. Annual registration is $30 making participants eligible to register in seven sessions of classes (April-October) and receive discounts at the Tyson Foods First Tee Learning Center in Lowell and at participating area golf courses. Registration for the May session is $25 and includes an one-and a-half hour class each week for four weeks. Classes will be offered in Bella Vista, Fayetteville and Lowell in the JUNE session. • The First Tee will offer 16 weeks of Summer Golf Camp in 2013. Camps will run Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays will be reserved for rain-outs. Registration for First Tee members is $75, and for non-members $90. Camps at the Tyson Foods First Tee Learning Center in Lowell will be offered the weeks of June 3, 10, 17, 24, July 8, 15, 22 and 29. Bella Vista camps, at the Brittany Golf course, will be the weeks of June 3, 17, July 15 and 22. Fayetteville camps, at Razorback Golf Course, will be offered the weeks of June 10, 24, July 8 and 29. • Registration for The First Tee’s UNILEVER Girls Golf Program will continue through June 4. The program, available to girls ages 13 to 18, will meet twice a month (May thru Aug.) on the first and third Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Tyson Foods First Tee Learning Center in Lowell. These sessions will include golf lessons and golf course time. In addition, the girls will meet one time a month in a more social setting, including meeting Stacy Lewis at the LPGA NWA Championship. Cost of the program is $25 with a First Tee Annual Registration.
FENCING
• Northwest Arkansas Fencing Center registration is open for the May Introductory Fencing Classes. May classes will run Mondays and Wednesdays. Classes are from 6 to 7 p.m. and run for three weeks (six classes). For children ages 6-9, Little Musketeers is accepting applications, but space is limited. • Springdale Youth Center Fall Youth Football Sign-ups are taking place from now through May 31. Cost is $70. Teams will be formed according to what school your child attends. RUNNING
• The Run for Garrett 5K will be Saturday at West Side City Park, 29th Street in Ozark. This is a timed 5K race. The cost is $20 by May 8 and $25 day of race. All proceeds go to the family of Garrett Hodges, a 12-year-old student at Ozark Middle School, who recently had brain surgery to remove a cancerous brain tumor.

• Arkansas Select soccer will host its TeamFirst Soccer Academy on June 7 to 9 at Memorial Soccer Park in Bentonville. Olympic gold medalists Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly and Tisha Hoch will conduct the academy. The academy will be from 9 a.m. to noon for players ages 8 to 12, and 1 to 4 p.m. for players ages 13 to 19. BASEBALL

• The Tiger Round-ball Skill Camp will be held May 28-30 in Tiger Arena in Bentonville. Camp sessions are 9-11:30 a.m. for fundamental skills (grades 3-7) and 1-3 p.m. for competitive skills (grades 5-8). Campers should wear t-shirts, shorts and adequate basketball shoes.
