7A BASEBALL Pate carries Fayetteville One day after closing out a quarterfinal victory in a relief appearance, Fayetteville’s Kyle Pate allowed one earned run and one hit in a completegame performance as Fayetteville defeated Conway 4-2 in the semifinals at Veterans Park in Rogers. Pate also contributed with the bat, going 2 for 4 with a two-run double and a home run. 10C6A BASEBALL

Jonesboro holds on J.D. Rainwater belted a two-run home run over the right-field fence in the first inning of Saturday’s Class 6A semifinal game and Jonesboro held on for a 6-5 victory over host Benton. It was Rainwater’s third home run in the tournament. 10C7A SOCCER Belles advance Mount St. Mary is headed to the Class 7A girls soccer state championship match next weekend, and it will have its coach back as well.
