Greenland To Hold Clean Up Event

GREENLAND — Greenland begins its spring cleanup today for residents looking to toss bulky trash.

Residents can go to the city’s Community Center on 170 Letitia St. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today or from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Officials plan to serve hot dogs and sodas Saturday to celebrate a recent state victory by local high school students in the 2012 Recycle Bowl, according to a city flier.

Residents can drop off appliances, furniture, paint, computers and televisions. Tree limbs or brush will also be accepted but no leaves.

Residents are asked to bag or box all trash because loose trash will not be accepted.

The event is for Greenland residents only.
