Richardson Center to Hold Community Meeting

FAYETTEVILLE — The public is invited to a community meeting Thursday to discuss how the Yvonne Richardson Community Center can better serve the city’s young people.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m at the Richardson Center, 240 E. Rock St.

The center, founded in 1996, provides free after-school and summer programs for more than 800 low-income children and teens each year. It operates in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department. All ideas for expanding the center’s outreach are welcome.

The center’s gymnasium was recently repainted, locker rooms were renovated and its entryway received new laminate flooring.

For more information about Thursday’s event, call Tenisha Gist, center director, at 479-444-3461.
