‘Outlaw’ comic at UARK; McClinton will rock center

Comedian Carl LaBove, one of the original “Outlaws of Comedy” who emerged from the Houston comedy scene in the late ’80s and early ’90s and longtime touring partner with the late Sam Kinison, will put on his oneman show, Outlaw Tales, at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday at the UARK Bowl, 644 W. Dickson St., Fayetteville. Tickets are $12.

Comedian Michael Malone is the headliner in shows at 8 and 10:30 p.m. today. Tickets are $7.

Blues rocker

Prima Trio

The Prima Trio - Gulia Gurevich, violin/viola (Uzbekistan); Boris Allakhverdyan, clarinet (Azerbaijan); and Anastasia Dedik, piano (Russia) - will perform at 2 p.m. today at the Arend Arts Center, 1901 S.E. J St., Bentonville.

The program for the Live On Stage in NWA season finale will include three of the Eight Pieces for clarinet, viola and piano, op.83, by Max Bruch; Suite for Clarinet, Violin and Piano, op.157b, by Darius Milhaud; The Klezmer’s Wedding by Srul Irving Glick; Trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano by Aram Khachaturian; “Otono Porteno” from Cuatroestaciones portenas (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires) by Astor Piazzolla; and Serenade for Three by Peter Schickele.

The “Students on Stage” opening act will be singer Kaylin Cripps of Gentry, recipient of a 2012 Live on Stage in NWA scholarship and now attending the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.

Super Kids camp

University of Central Arkansas’College of Education and Department of Early Childhood and Special Education will host “Super Kids 2013,” a camp consisting of three science-driven courses for students entering grades 1-3, June 3, 10, 17 and 24 at UCA, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway.

The courses:

“Young Oceanographers and the Ocean.” What makes the ocean salty, where the water comes from and characteristics of ocean creatures.

“Young Zoologists and the Animal Kingdom,” covering the unique characteristics of five different animal groups.

“Young Ecologists and the Rain Forest,” examining how the rain forest affects air, weather and lives.

Applications will be processed on a first-come basis. The $155 fee includes enrollment in all three courses; students will provide their own lunch.
